The So Cal Stealth tuned up for the Pony Baseball-13 All-Star section tournament by winning the 13-14 division title at the Summer Baseball Classic in Santa Ynez.
A walk-off double by Nolan Tooley drove in the winning run in a 5-4 victory over the Santa Ynez Pony 14 All-Stars in the championship game.
The Stealth rapped out 46 hits, including 14 doubles and six home runs, and outscored their opponents 37-14 en route to a perfect 5-0 record in the tournament.
The offensive stars for the Stealth were Aidan Williams, who went 8-for-15 with three homers (including a grand slam), 11 RBIs and four stolen bases; Cole Atelian, who went 5-9 with two doubles and a solo HR; Jacob Pritchard 7-16 with three doubles and a three-run HR, and Tooley 6-14 with three doubles, three RBIs and three stolen bases.
On the mound, Stealth pitchers held their opponents to a .271 batting average, recorded 31 strikeouts and only allowed 18 walks.
Notable pitching performances were turned in by Williams, Daniel Buratto, Davis Valles and Tooley.
Defensively the Tides were led by their two catchers, Johnny Weger and Parker Rozenburg, who combined to throw out five runners and did not surrender a passed ball.
