The tournament is a two-day, Saturday-Sunday event. Sixteen teams will be narrowed down to eight by Sunday, with a champion being determined by Sunday afternoon. Carpinteria High School, just across the street from the Carpinteria Boys Club, is the tournament site.

“This money that we’re raising is going to go towards supporting the kids who can’t afford (playing football),” said Boys & Girls Club Athletic Director Alan Pottkotter.  “All this money is going to fund scholarships and equipment.”

The Carpinteria youth football teams compete against teams from local YFL leagues. Players, who range from 8-14 years of age, start practice on August 2.

A $250 gift certificate to Boombah.com will be rewarded to the winning team.
