Two sub-18s and a three-peat for Bell at Nite Moves

Two runners ran the 5K in under 18 minutes at the third Nite Moves race on Wednesday at Leadbetter Beach. Santa Barbara’s Ian Monsma, 22, won this week, by clocking in at 17:05 after a fourth place finish in last week’s race. Ventura’s Aaron Kleefisch, 30, took second clocking in at 17:57 and improving on his time from last week.

Sara Dillman was the first female runner to finish, taking fourth overall at 18:30.

COMPLETE RESULTS

Santa Barbara’s Walker Bell completed a three-peat of the swimming portion of the evening after winning the event for the third week in a row. The 12-year-old was the first swimmer of the season to break the 15 minute mark in the half-mile course, clocking in at 14:59. Camarillo’s Norbert Hoehne, 41, nearly broke the 15 minute mark himself at 15:02.

Orcutt’s Mike Dunn, 27, won the run/swim aquathon event by 52 seconds, finishing at 38:20.

Stevenson’s Ranch resident Erika Lilley, 31, won the women’s’ special aquathon by over a minute, finishing at 42:27.
