Robert Thornton blasted a 3-run homer and also picked up the win on the mound in the Carpinteria baseball team’s 15-3 win over lowly Santa Paula on Thursday. Trevor Madden had a huge day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four runs scored and three RBIs. Senior Diego Carrillo added two RBIs and three hits.
The Warriors (13-9) will likely earn a wild card entry into the playoffs, according to coach Pat Cooney. Santa Paula finishes at 2-21 overall.
