Former Santa Barbara High star Taylor Rochestie led his German league team to the Euro Challenge title last Sunday, scoring 14 points in the championship game against the Russian team Krasnye Krilya.
But it was Rochestie’s performance in the semifinals that made the title possible, as BG Gottingen rode the first-year pro’s 27 points to a come-from-behind victory over the French team Roanne.
Rochestie was named MVP of the Euro Challenge’s Final Four for his efforts. The international tournament started with 32 teams.
In Goettingen’s 33-game regular season, the finished in second place with a 24-9 record. Rochestie’s role with the team grew as the season progressed and he eventually took over as the team’s leading scorer with 15 points per game.
