Laguna Blanca’s Niall Platt, San Marcos’ Dodge Ward and Santa Barbara High’s Jack Perry will among those competing for an SCGA individual title next week after the trio made the cut at Monday’s CIF-SS Individual Final at La Purisma Golf Course.
Servite’s Patrick Cantlay bested the field by four strokes to take the CIF title. Cantlay’s four-under 68 beat out St. Joseph’s Chris Blystone and Estancia’s Jake Knapp, each with 72s.
Platt had the best round of the local threesome, carding a three-over 75 to come in tied for 11th place. Perry was one shot behind with a 76 and Ward another back at 77.
The top 28 scores, excluding those players already apart of teams that have qualified, advance to next Monday’s SCGA Championship in Temecula.
