Santa Barbara High’s Tyler Parent claimed one of the nine spots in next week’s CIF discus final after a heave of 148 feet and 10 inches at Saturday’s Prelims.
It’s the senior’s first trip to finals. Parent also competed in the pole vault, shot put and 4×400 relay at Prelims.
Briggs Deardorf just missed out on a trip to Cerritos, placing one spot out of qualification in 10th place in the mile.
