Laguna Blanca’s boys volleyball team went down to El Segundo on Tuesday and ran into a tough matchup against No. 3 Vistamar, finishing the season on the wrong end of a 25-22, 25-19, 25-15 sweep in the first round of the CIF Division V playoffs. Assistant coach Dillan Bennett, however, felt it might have been the best match the Owls have played all season.
“I’m so proud of these guys; they’re awesome. Vistamar was very good but we went pound-for-pound with them for about two and a half games,” he said. “I’m proud of how this group progressed and improved and I’m looking forward to next year.”
Parker Lilly had nine digs, six kills and three blocks while Ben Abrams added five kills with no errors and four blocks.
The Owls (9-6) return six juniors to next year’s team.
