Top-seeds Chase Melton of Santa Barbara High and Sasha Gryaznov of Dos Pueblos will meet on Thursday in the Channel League singles title match after winning their semifinal matches on Tuesday.
Melton defeated Ventura’s Michael Lowe, 6-2, 6-2, while Gryaznov beat Santa Barbara’s Nico Pollero, 6-4, 6-2.
“Spectators enjoyed long rallies, which included hopping backhands, crisp volleys, great angles, and baseline winners. All players showed how well they could up the pace on the ball as well as place it,” said DP coach Liz Frech.
The league tournament continues with doubles action on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Dos Pueblos. Gryaznov and Melton will square off at Cathedral Oaks Athletic Club at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
