Dos Pueblos senior Krista Martony has accepted an offer to play softball at Oklahoma Christian University next season, where she will play at the NAIA Division-I level.
Martony, a two-year varsity player that shared captain duties this season, batted .286 her senior year with four RBIs. Martony is also a threat to opposing base runners, as the catcher threw out several of the Channel League’s top runnning threats while committing just one error in two seasons behind the plate.
Eagles head coach Tom Heath has been at the head of the program since it was created in 1995. Martony will try and help a team that went 26-29 this last season, its first losing season since 2007.
