Halfway through the Channel League golf championships, the Santa Barbara Dons inhabit the top three spots.
Mickey Kirby and Shane Lebow each shot 3-under par 69 at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai, while teammate Jack Perry birdied the last two holes to card a 70. It was a season-low for Kirby.
“He made a bunch of really long putts. He only hit eight greens in regulation, but he was getting up-and-down from everywhere,” said coach James Bedard. “He made a 30- and 40-footer on the back nine.”
San Marcos’ Thayer White was in fifth place at 72, and DP was led by Lane Fuller’s 74. Santa Barbara’s Ray Gerow shot 74 and Spencer Mikles shot 79.
