Cardinals good for final Frontier victory

Bishop Diego’s boys golf team was triumphant in its final Frontier League Meet on Thursday, beating out the field with a team score of 423 at par-70 Mountain View Golf Course.

All five of Bishop’s scorers were in the 80s, led by Anthony Pell’s 82. Jun Huh was right behind at  83 and Scott Grimes at 84.

After a 20-year drought without a team victory in league, the Cardinals have now won two meets this season and finished in second place overall behind the Lancers.

Grace Brethren, led by medalist Cameron Dishman’s 76, placed second on Thursday with a team score of 435, edging Santa Paula’s 438.

“Our Boys played great,” said Cardinals head coach Martin Herrera. “The pin placements were very severe yet our players didn’t lose their composure. This was a great way to finish the season for our six seniors.”
