The Santa Barbara Breakers ran into trouble on Saturday against the visiting L.A. Buzz, dropping a 125-119 decision at the Sports Pavilion.
The Buzz had three players score over 30 points, led by JuShay Rocket’s 44.
It was a tight game at the end of the third quarter as the Buzz clung to a 1-point lead after being outscored by 12 in the third quarter. But the Buzz went on to score 40 points in the final frame to claim the victory.
The game was a battle for second place, with L.A. now standing alone in second place with a record of 4-1. Santa Barbara is 3-2.
The Breakers’ next game is up against first-place Newport Beach, which has yet to lose a game, including a 75-61 win over Santa Barbara on April 24.
Tipoff is at 7:15 p.m. for Saturday’s game with Newport at the Sports Pavilion.
