TOURNAMENT OVERVIEW
—–TIME & PLACE: Santa Barbara’s Beach Soccer Summer Slam will take over West Beach on Saturday, July 10, nestled between the Harbor and Stearns Wharf in the heart of the city’s waterfront district. The Tournament kicks off at 9:30 a.m. and will be completed by 4:30 p.m. (Group play will finish in the early afternoon)
—–TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Summer Slam is currently accepting registration in a variety of different divisions: Open, Boys & Girls High School, and Young Adult Co-Ed. Each division will start with group play, and the top teams in group play will advance into the medal round. Each team is guaranteed at least three matches.
—–TEAM GUIDELINES: Each team must register a minimum of 6 players, and a max of 10. Play will consist of 5-on-5 at a time, including goalkeepers. Group-play consists of two 15-minute halves with a four-minute halftime. Championship matches will be extended to 20 minute halves.
—–TOURNAMENT GIVE-AWAYS: Each registered competitor will receive a digital team photo and a promo bag full of fun give-aways. The Open Division features a $500 first-place prize. All other division winners will receive trophies, with medals going to all finalists.
—–OPEN DIVISION: The Registration Fee is slightly higher for the Open Division, allowing for a $500 cash prize purse. Open Division is co-ed, although teams are not required to be. Open Division semifinal matches and championship game will be extended to 20 minutes halves.
—–TOURNAMENT FEES: Team registration fees are meant to be very affordable at $220 per team. That’s just $22 per person for a full team!! Cost for an Open Division entry is a little extra, $275 per team, to make room for the $500 cash prize.
—–AFTER PARTY AND AWARDS BANQUET: All competitors are invited to Union Ale Brewing Company at 214 State Street for an after party and the cash prize presentation to the Open Division Champion. There will be drink and food specials for all Summer Slam attendees. Festivities begin at 6 p.m.
