Zach Yinger had nine aces and eight kills on Thursday at Maury Halleck Gymnasium, leading the San Marcos boys volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-19, 25-22 sweep of visiting Santa Ynez.
Coach Roger Kuntz was also pleased with the efficiency of setters John Redfield and Neil Holliday, as well as all three of the Royals’ middle blockers.
San Marcos (12-8, 3-3 Channel League) hosts Dos Pueblos on Tuesday.
