Carpinteria used six pitchers on Wednesday in what coach Pat Cooney called a “team-building” game, defeating the visiting Thacher Toads 8-5.
Zach Boberg went 3-for-4 with a run scored and Victor Garcia was 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Jose Carrillo go the win on the mound by pitching the fifth inning. He started the game at catcher and put on the gear once again to close out the game in the seventh.
Thacher is now 1-3, and Carpinteria (7-4) hosts Nordhoff on Friday.
