UCSB invites the Central Coast Community to participate in the third annual Gaucho Gallop to be held 8-11a.m. Saturday, April 24, at UCSB’s Harder Stadium.
Registration fees are $20 for students and UCSB Alumni Association members; $22 for Moms in Motion and UCSB alumni, faculty, and staff; and $25 for the general public. Registration fees go up $5 on the day of the race.
Gaucho Gallop races include the Santa Barbara Running Company 10K and 5K Fun Run/Walk, the Dioji Dog Dash, and the “G Kids” Dash. The event will also include a Finish Line Festival and the Dioji Doggie Lounge. Registration and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m.
Partial proceeds from this year’s Gaucho Gallop will go to the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

The one-kilometer Dioji Dog Dash will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Storke Field, just south of Harder Stadium. Runners will be led out by the Gaucho mascot Olé and the Geico Gecko. Winners of the Dioji Dog Dash will win a three-month supply of Canidae dog food. The Dioji Doggie Lounge will open at 8:30 a.m.
The 10K and 5K racecourses have been redesigned this year to provide scenic views of campus, lagoon, and the ocean. The 10K and 5K races begin at 9 a.m. Winners of the 10K races will receive beach cruisers from Collegiate Bicycle Company.
The “G Kids” Dash will take place at 10:15 a.m. Celebrate your finish at the Finish Line Festival (beginning at 9:30 a.m.) with music, Woodstock’s pizza, awards and a raffle.
