Carpinteria capped an exciting two-game series with crosstown-rival Bishop Diego on Friday with a two-run seventh inning that gave the Warriors a walk-off 7-6 Tri-Valley League decision.
Both meetings this week between the two rivals ended with the home team getting satisfying walk-off victories.
Victor Garcia ended the game on Friday with a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning that scored Diego Carrillo and Robert Thornton.
Carpinteria had taken a 4-0 lead after two innings but, like Wednesday, the Cardinals battled back and took a 6-5 lead with a run in the top of the seventh after two in the sixth.
Warriors starting pitcher Trevor Madden picked up his first victory of the season in a complete-game effort. Madden struck out nine Cardinals and scattered 10 hits in his seven innings.
Carpinteria (10-6, 4-4) looks ahead to a two-game series with St. Bonaventure while Bishop Diego (4-10, 2-6) has two league series left this season, starting with Oak Park next week.
