The Bishop Diego swim team (all two of them) traveled to Villanova Prep on Wednesday to compete in a Frontier League swim meet. Shannon Slaught, a junior, swam the varsity 50 free and the varsity 100 breast, winning each event.
She had previously qualified for CIF in each event. She swam last weekend in Los Angeles at Mt SAC in a high school invitational, coming in 7th overall in the 100 Free and 10th overall in the 100 breast. The meet contained numerous Division I schools in Southern California.
Joshua Chevez, a freshman, did extremely well at Villanova. He had a personal best in the 100 free, coming in second in the varsity division. He swam great in the 100 breast, coming in third in the varsity heat. Joshua is improving each event he enters. His coach sees good things happening in his upcoming meets.
