Santa Barbara High’s Tyler Parent posted a personal best on Friday in the discus and picked a good time to do it as the Dons senior won the event at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut.
His throw of 156 feet and eight inches came on his fourth and final attempt and beat second-place finisher Dalton Bolger, of Mullen, by nearly four feet.
Shane Rowan of San Marcos finished second in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 45 feet, one inch.
