SBCC men’s soccer player Stuart Kirk, a sophomore from Wales, has signed a national letter of intent to play for Belmont Abbey (N.C.). Kirk, a first-team All-WSC choice in 2009, played on back-to-back Vaquero WSC championship teams. Santa Barbara is 22-2-4 in the WSC over the last two years.
The forward had five goals and three assists as captain last year and was voted team MVP. Belmont Abbey is an NCAA Div. II school in Belmont, N.C. The Crusaders were 12-7-2 last year.
Kirk said he was recruited by West Texas A&M, Westmont, Long Island University (N.Y.), C.W. Post and UNLV.
