Third-seeded Amy Sagraves and No. 8 Meghan Schaefer won on Saturday in the WSC Individual Women’s Tennis Tournament at Ventura College to earn berths in the Southern Cal Regional at Cerritos College. The SBCC duo qualified in both singles and doubles.
Sagraves won her match 6-1, 6-0 while Schaefer prevailed 6-1, 6-3. Sagraves-Schaefer, seeded fifth, won their Round of 16 doubles 6-1, 6-0 to advance along with their eighth-seeded teammates Terea Tapu-Anna Slyutova, who won 6-2, 6-1 to improve to 13-0 on the year.
The WSC tourney is a qualifier for the Regional with play stopping at the quarterfinal stage.
