Hannah Ball had a two-run double to left field in the fifth and Natalie Williams followed up with a double of her own, but the San Marcos softball team had already given up a 7-run head start to Fillmore and eventually lost 8-4 on Wednesday.
“We were just really flat to start the game. It was like we were still on spring break,” said coach Alex Sheldon. “It took us half the game to get going.”
The Royals (4-6) host DP on Friday.
