San Marcos took on powerful Mater Dei swim team on Monday in a lopsided team meet that was punctuated by some fine individual performances by the Royals.
Brittny Hummel and Ashley Wagner swam personal bests in the in the 100-meter butterfly and 100-meter backstroke, respectively. James Sweeney did the same in the 100 backstroke for the boys while Abhi Frandsen did well in the 50 and 100 free.
Mater Dei swims in a meet with Santa Barbara and Dos Pueblos on Tuesday while San Marcos waits for a Channel League meet on Friday with Santa Barbara.
