On a blustery Thursday, Ventura’s boys tennis team prevailed over San Marcos 11-7 on the strength of a strong singles lineup and a dominant showing by their top doubles tandem.
San Marcos’ Petar Jivkov defeated 33rd ranked Michael Lowe 6-0 in San Marcos’ lone singles victory.
“Petar remained positive on a difficult day to play tennis. The winds were gusting but he hit his forehand with authority and returned aggressively,” said coach Jarrod Bradley.
San Marcos finishes fourth in league play with a 3-5 record and is 10-8 overall. The Royals will play their final match of the season next Friday at Cate. Ventura finishes second in league with a record of 5-3 and is 11-7 overall.
