A sixteen-run second inning was more than enough for Carpinteria’s softball team on Thursday as the Warriors pocketed a 17-6 Frontier League victory at Malibu.
Warriors catcher Myriah Diaz did the most damage in the huge inning, knocking a pair of triples with the bases loaded for six RBIs in the inning.
Tatiana Verdugo and Catalina Maldonado split time in the circle
The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
It was the first league win for Carpinteria, which stands at 1-3. The Warriors will play a non-league game against San Marcos on Friday before returning to league play next week.
