Madden’s walk-off blast ends Seraphs’ 34-game streak

Trevor Madden hit a two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the eighth inning that gave Carpinteria’s baseball team an 8-6 comeback win over visiting St. Bonaventure on Thursday. It was the Seraphs’ first Tri-Valley League loss in 34 games, dating back to May of 2007.

Madden also got the win on the mound, pitching the final two innings. Victor Garcia was responsible for extending the game into extra-innings, knocking a two-out, two-strike single that drove in two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Robert Thornton had two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs while Zach Boberg had a pair of hits and runs scored.

The Warriors (11-6, 5-5) face another undefeated TVL foe, Oaks Christian, on Wednesday. St. Bonaventure is now 14-11, 7-1.
