Oaks Christian hand raced past Carpinteria in a Tri-Valley League meet on Wednesday, as both the Lions boys and girls teams routed the Warriors.
Carpinteria had some solid individual performances, however, highlighted by senior John Bustillos’ win in the shot put. Bustillos’ throw of 46 feet, 1.5 inches was a new personal best by more than a foot.
Shelby Dunlap won the high jump and the girls 4×400 relay team edged the Lions.
The Warriors are hosting next Thursday’s Tri-Valley League Championships, the next action for both schools.
