Nikolay Ivanov and Regis Fastrez of SBCC moved into the Round of 16 on a windy Thursday in the Southern Cal Regional men’s tennis tournament at Cal State Northridge.
After a bye, Ivanov-Fastrez topped Eric Lu-Gordon Paitimusa of Mt. San Antonio 6-0, 7-6 (6) in the Round of 32. They’ll take on Paul Negapetyan-Dinusha Wijesuriya of WSC rival Glendale on Friday.
SBCC’s other doubles team, Tommy McNichols-Quentin Richelle, lost a close battle to Eitan Weisner-Ryan Daza of Mt. SAC 7-6 (2), 7-6 (5).
