Dos Pueblos’ Hannah Harris paralyzed Santa Barbara High’s softball team on Friday with 12 strikeouts, leading the Chargers to a 11-1 Channel League victory over the Dons.
Harris’ strikeouts accounted for 80 percent of the Dons’ outs as the game ended after five innings. Harris gave up only two hits and an unearned run in the first inning.
The Chargers scored in every inning but one while collecting 13 hits. Chloe Madill and Harris each had three hits and Agnetta Cleland drove in three runs. Mallory Meier cracked a triple and Jordan Roberts added a double.
Dos Pueblos head coach Donn Roberts was pleased to see Marisa Radeke make a diving catch on the infield in her first game of the season.
The Chargers are excited for a busy week coming up highlighted by Tuesday’s trip to Angel Stadium at which the team will receive recognition for its CIF Academic Championship. Dos Pueblos also faces to huge games against league-leading Buena.
The Dons (2-11, 1-6) play three days in a row next week, a game with Fillmore on Thursday sandwiched between a league series with Ventura that starts on Wednesday.
