Bishop Diego’s softball team had Frontier League leaders Grace Brethren in a three-run hole on Wednesday. The Cardinals held a 5-2 lead in the fifth inning before the Lancers were able to pound out 11 runs in the top of the sixth inning to capture a 13-5 decision.
“We played really well through five innings,” said Cardinals head coach Tom Beamer, whose team falls to 1-2 in league.
Bishop (9-8) plays Nordhoff on Friday followed by a makeup on Monday for Tuesday’s rainout with Carpinteria.
