First-inning run holds up against Warriors

Oak Park’s Derek Galvin and Bryan Langlois combined on a six-hit shut out on Wednesday, with Carpinteria being on the other end of a 1-0 Tri-Valley League decision on the Warriors’ field.

Galvin went six innings to get the victory and Langlois entered in the seventh to get the save.

Steven Blum recorded a complete game for Carpinteria, not allowing an earned run while striking out five.

“He did well. He located and and changed speeds,” said Warriors head coach Pat Cooney.

The Eagles scored their run in the top of the first inning when a runner scored from third base on a passed ball. The Warriors (8-5, 2-3) couldn’t get it back, being shut out for only the second time this season in 13 games.

Friday’s game is at Oak Park.
