Camille Wissman won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly on Thursday as the Santa Barbara High girls swimmers defeated San Marcos 104-79 on Thursday. Zach Sklar won the same two events on the boys side to lead the Santa Barbara boys to a 141-43 victory over the Royals.
Cristian Bridley was the winner in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke for the Dons, and Karl Boscacci took the 100 free and 100 backstroke. Brendan Kerwin-McElroy won the 50 freestyle, and Aiden McCarter win his second consecutive diving competition.
San Marcos diver Tristan Lake qualified for CIF competition, and teammate John Errico notched a personal-best in the 100 backstroke to finish second to Boscacci. Jorge Flores, meanwhile, had a season-best mark in the 200 IM and finished third.
The San Marcos girls scored more points than any of coach Brian Roth’s teams have against the Dons in the past, making it a very strong outing. Sophomore Ashley Wagner won the 100 backstroke and recorded another personal best time in the 200 IM. Alex Brown took second in diving and qualified for CIF, while the 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams picked up CIF consideration times. Flo Chardon earned CIF consideration in the 50 freestyle.
Next week’s Channel League prelims will be held at San Marcos.
