Defensive funk stings Chargers

Too many miscues on defense cost Dos Pueblos’ softball team dearly on Wednesday as the Chargers fell 8-2 at Pacifica in a Pacific View Tournament game.

Only three of Pacifica’s eight runs were earned. The Tritons never trailed, putting up three runs in the first inning.

The Chargers scored their two runs in the third inning on a 2-run single from Agnetta Cleland, who was 2-for-2 in the game. Hannah Harris and Ashlynd Williams scored the runs for DP and each recorded a pair of hits.

Dos Pueblos collected 10 hits in all, led by three from Chloe Madill. But the Chargers left 10 runners on base, including the bases loaded in the first inning.

Dos Pueblos(7-10, 3-2) can get well again on Friday in its second game of the week against Ventura.
