SBCC was seeded fifth for the eight-team Southern Cal Dual Team women’s tennis playoffs and will travel to No. 4 Irvine Valley on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
The Vaqueros (10-2) are making their first playoff appearance since 2001 when they captured the state title. They finished second in the Western State Conference with an 8-2 record, losing twice to conference champion Santa Monica. Irvine Valley (10-3) tied for second in the Orange Empire Conference at 5-3.
Santa Monica is seeded No. 2 and will host Mt. San Antonio. In other matchups, No. 8 Mt. San Jacinto travels to top-seeded Saddleback and No. 6 Palomar plays at No. 3 Orange Coast.
The semifinals will take place on April 20 at the site of the higher seed
