Jordan Roberts proved to be Ventura’s foil on Friday afternoon, connecting on a three-run home run that brought Dos Pueblos a 3-2 Channel League softball victory.
The blast to left field came in the fourth inning with Chloe Madill and Hannah Harris on base, giving the Chargers a lead they would never relinquish.
Harris, who recorded two hits in the game, pitched a complete game to record the win.
Roberts and Madill also had a pair of hits, as did Agnetta Cleland.
Dos Pueblos avoided making an error for the first time this season and turned two double plays on defense.
“It was a very clean game,” said Chargers head coach Donn Roberts.
The win puts Dos Pueblos (4-2) in sole possession of second place in the Channel League behind Buena. Ventura falls to 3-3.
