Dos Pueblos shot just one stroke better on Thursday than it did on Tuesday in a loss to league-leading Santa Barbara, but this time it was good for a 379-397 Channel League victory over Buena at Glen Annie Golf Club.
The Chargers (10-7, 3-4) handed the Bulldogs (10-2, 3-2) only their second loss of the season.
Carson Curtis posted the day’s best round with a two-over 73. Lane Fuller’s 74 and Nick Deheras’ 75 were within striking distance of medalist honors, keeping the Chargers ahead of the Bulldogs.
Dirk Guthrie’s 76 was Buena’s low round.
“We played not great but solid,” said Chargers head coach Rob Schiff, whose team has one more league match against San Marcos at Sandpiper.
