Chargers see Dons stay at par

Santa Barbara’s boys golf team took its show on the road on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Dos Pueblos at Glen Annie in a 355-380 Channel League decision.

The Dons, who have won five straight league matches to stand alone in first place, shot even-par as a team and recorded their best team score of the season away from Montecito Country Club. Jack Perry carded a 3-under 68 for the day’s best round.

Supporting Perry’s round were three Dons with career lows. Mickey Kirby(70) posted his first under-par round in high school competition while Sean Searls(72) and Spencer Mikles(74) either matched or bested their best rounds.

“It’s really nice to see us gelling over the course of the last two weeks or so. I feel like thinks are definitely going in the right direction,” said Dons head coach James Bedard.

Dos Pueblos’  Michael Yi was one-over at 72 while Lane Fuller and Brett Patton turned in matching 75s to lead the Chargers.

Both the Dons and the Chargers have one more league match this week on Thursday. DP travels to Buena while the Dons host Ventura.
