Dos Pueblos’ girls softball team is 2-2 after two days at Righetti’s Best of the West Tournament, having split its two games on Tuesday against Woodcreek and Downey.
The Chargers were able to top Woodcreek 1-0 in the day’s first game before falling to Downey 10-0 in the second game. That after two games on Monday in which Dos Pueblos lost 3-0 to Lompoc, then turned around to shut out Notre Dame 6-0.
As a result, Dos Pueblos will be playing in the 11th place game on Wednesday against Damonte Ranch, a team from Nevada.
Hannah Harris was in the circle for both victories the past two days, highlighted by a one-hitter in the Woodcreek game. The sophomore pitched well in the Lompoc loss as well, striking out seven while only allowing one earned run. Harris was knocked out of the Downey game by a line drive but her injury does not look to be serious.
Chloe Madill scored the only run of the game in win over Woodcreek, stealing home in the second inning. In the victory over Notre Dame, Kiersty Griner scored twice, Emily Otis scored a run with a hit and Harris scored twice with two RBIs.
