In the number two doubles match, Azusa’s Casey Wetzig and Leah Hoffee defeated Tara Yekrang and Sarah Louie 8-4 while on the number three court, Jessalyn Lau and Marie Tanaka swept Sarah Chhum and Audrey Seversen 8-0.

The Cougars had an easy time of it in the bottom two-thirds of the singles lineup. At number three, Severson lost to Emily Ignas 6-0, 6-0 and at number four Wetzig lost to Louie 6-0, 6-2. Tanaka earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Chhum at number five and Lau defeated Hanna Day 6-0, 6-0 at number six.

On the number one court, Bon defeated Strange 6-1, 6-1 in a match which lasted much longer than the score would indicate.

The closest of the matches was played at the number two court. Matthews won the first set 4-6 but Hoffee rallied to win the second set 7-6 (3). That sent the match to a superbreaker to settle the matter, which Hoffee won 10-6.

The Warriors will travel to La Mirada on Thursday to take on the Eagles of Biola (5-12, 2-10 GSAC) in a two o’clock match.
