San Marcos’ boys golf team nearly pulled off two wins this week in the Murderer’s Row called the Channel League, coming up short against Buena on Thursday, 388-396.
Buena remains undefeated on the season at 6-0, winning its league opener. The Royals fall to 1-1 in league after defeating defending league champion Santa Barbara on Tuesday.
Brett Silvernail was medalist, scoring a two-over 74 at Olivas Links. Dodge Ward was the Royals’ low man, carding a 76. All five San Marcos scorers were under 82, with Scott Bradford joining Ward under 80 at 78.
San Marcos is now 3-2, 1-1.
