Terea Tapu had a perfect day on Thursday at Pershing Park as SBCC blanked Hancock 9-0 in a WSC women’s tennis match. Tapu, a freshman from Hagatna, Guam, didn’t lose a game, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and teaming with Anna Slyutova for an 8-0 doubles win.
The second-place Vaqueros (10-1, 8-1) won for the fourth straight time to set up a first-place showdown with unbeaten Santa Monica in the regular-season finale on April 6 at home. SBCC is 5-0 at Pershing Park this year.
Amy Sagraves rallied for her sixth win in seven matches, beating Katy Carlson 3-6, 6-2, 10-2 (super tiebreaker).
Santa Monica handed the Vaqueros their only loss, 5-4, on March 9.
