Local sisters Cara and Katie Spieler won this weekend’s California Beach Volleyball Association AA Tournament in Hermosa Beach to earn an AAA-rating — the highest achievable.
Cara, 19, played for Jon Lee at San Marcos and now plays for Tufts University in Boston. Katie, 15, was a sophomore on this year’s CIF Champion Dos Pueblos squad. It is her first-ever rating.
The CBVA schedule will be rolling through East Beach beginning in late May.
