Kailey Snyder tossed a three-hit shutout on Saturday night, helping SBCC to its first shutout of the year in a 6-0 softball victory over Pasadena at the Bakersfield Classic. Snyder struck out four and didn’t walk a batter to improve to 5-2.
Laura Cannon had two hits and two RBIs and Janelle Wong, Amanda Sharp and Joan Cannon all had two hits for the Vaqueros (11-7), who avenged two earlier losses to Pasadena (7-17). Joan Cannon also had a pair of stolen bases.
Wong delivered an RBI single in the first and SBCC made it 3-0 in the second on RBI hits from Lauren Takayesu and Lisa Zeitlin.
“It was a really solid game for us with no errors,” said coach Paula Congleton. “We were very focused and determined.”
SBCC will play two games on Sunday against Riverside (1 p.m.) and Bakersfield (3 p.m.).
