SBCC’s four killers knock down El Camino

Four players reached double figures in kills on Friday night in Torrance, leading SBCC to a 31-29, 30-27, 30-23 WSC men’s volleyball sweep over El Camino.

Miles Evans had 14 kills, followed by Justin Hertlein (11), Pete Aronchick (10) and 6-8 Cody Zoesch (10). Hertlein and Aronchick returned from injuries to help the Vaqueros (6-3, 1-1) snap a three-game losing streak.

Jonathan Newton had five blocks, Kaahukane Leite-AhYo had 43 assists and Andrew Thomason made 15 digs.

“We played much better tonight,” said coach Melody Parker. “We had more confidence and a better rhythm.”

The Vaqueros return to action on Wednesday at Long Beach.
