SBCC’s Albert Corral shot 74 on a cold and windy Monday, good for fourth place in the WSC No. 2 men’s golf tournament at Rio Bravo CC in Bakersfield.
Jesse Ferris shot 77 and Mike Levine 78, helping the Vaqueros to fourth place at 389. They finished nine shots behind the winner Ventura, which edged Bakersfield by a stroke. Ventura and Canyons share the top spot in the standings at 11-1. SBCC is tied for fourth at 5-7.
“We played slightly better than last week,” said coach Chuck Melendez. “We still need to play a lot better to be competitive.”
The Vaqueros will compete in the Canyons Invitational and WSC No. 3 on Monday at Valencia CC.
