Amy Sagraves and Meghan Schaeffer both won in three sets Thursday, leading the SBCC women’s tennis team to a 9-0 blanking of Bakersfield at Pershing Park. Sagraves rallied for a 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 victory while Schaeffer won 6-4, 6-7 (3) and 10-8 in the super tiebreaker (first to 10 points).
The Vaqueros (8-1, 6-1 WSC) improved to 4-0 at home.
“The girls were really into the match,” said coach Debbie Ekola. “We’re coming into our own as a team.”
SBCC travels to Ventura on Tuesday.
