Royals rain on Bulldogs, 16-2

San Marcos’ boys tennis team had no problems with Buena on Thursday, routing Buena 16-2 for a Channel League victory.

The Royals dominated in doubles, winning all nine sets. The doubles teams of Jackson Mann-Scott Messier, Nik Kilpelainen-Garrett Timmons and Jackson Foster-Garrett Hazarian were perfect on the day. The Royals gave up only four games in those nine sets.

Petar Jivkov and Travis Enholm were victorious in the only set they played in singles while freshman Andrew Poolman went 2-0 in his first varsity action.

“Andrew relaxed after his first set and served extremely well. He authored a fast, hard first serve and a good kicking second serve that kept his opponents off balance,” said Royals head coach Jarrod Bradley.

San Marcos improves to 6-1 on the season and 1-1 on the season.
