Royals put up eight late neccessary runs

Eight runs in the final two innings was plenty to catapult San Marcos’ baseball team to a come-from-behind 12-7 victory at Oak Park on Wednesday.

Nick Villegas went 4-for-5 at the plate while knocking in three runs. David Kim, who pitched two scoreless innings of relief and was credited for the win, also recorded three RBIs with two runs scored.

The Royals’ offense produced 17 hits in the game as six players had multi-hit games. Jimmy Bracca, Shane Moore, Payton Moore and Lino Reveles each had two hits.

Oak Park took a 7-4 lead into the seventh inning thanks to a Brian Langlois grandslam in the bottom half of the sixth.

San Marcos improves to 3-3 before it opens Channel League play on Friday hosting Santa Barbara.
