Royals doubles dunks Tigers

Two Royals doubles teams remained undefeated through three matches by winning three sets on Monday, leading the Royals to a 12-6 victory over San Luis Obispo.

Nik Kilpelainen and Garrett Timmons won their first two sets 6-0, 6-0 before being stretched to a third-set tiebreaker. Jackson Foster and Parker Funk took their three sets 6-1, 6-4, 7-5. Jackson Mann and Scott Messier went 2-1 to give San Marcos eight of nine doubles sets.

Petar Jivkov took two sets for San Marcos in singles, including a 6-4 victory over the Tigers’ No. 1 player, Coco Angulo. Garrett Hazarian won his first varsity set while going 1-1 in singles.

San Luis Obispo’s James Campbell swept his three sets 6-0, 6-1, 6-0.

San Marcos (3-0) travels to Arroyo Grande on Wednesday.
